Speech Language Screening

Would you like free SLP services to support your child’s development?

Airdrie Foundation 4 Early Intervention offers free speech and language screenings for all children with parental consent. If the screening indicates that a child would benefit from speech/language early intervention, the child will be eligible for SLP services at no extra cost to the family.

Mild Moderate Eligibility

  • Children aged 3.8 yrs - 6 years on the 1st day of September are eligible for MM early intervention

  • An SLP assessment and diagnostic report is required. Assessment scores and diagnostic statements determine eligibility

  • Foundation 4 partners with Inspiration Station Preschool.

  • Alberta Ed supports MM early intervention for 2 years max.

Professional Services

Certificated Teachers and an Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) oversee IPP development and services for Mild Moderate needs.

Para-Professionals

Special Needs Facilitators support identified children in class. They are specifically trained to promote speech production during classroom activities.

Individualized Program Plan - IPP

An IPP is a document created for all children who are eligible for Mild Moderate grants. The IPP lists the goals for the child and strategies for achieving those goals. IPP’s goals and priorities are reviewed 2 times/year.
